Books about SVA’s activities

Libraries Beyond Borders Thirty years of experience of Japanese NGO

Keeping the principle of “education and culture”, Shanti Volunteer Association (SVA) has been committed to problems and has developed international cooperation activities mainly in Asian countries. The book “Libraries Beyond Borders” reveals children’s lives who have been grown up in chronic poverty, and explains why SVA believes it is important to continue one of its core activities, “Library Activities”, in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar/Burma Refugee Camps. A book can give an expression to boy’s face who may have forgotten how to smile; this is what a SVA’s staff has experienced in Afghanistan. As long as there are children who are waiting for books to read delivered from Japan, SVA will continue its activities in order for everyone to live together as human beings.
